As a member of the Port of San Diego Green Business Network, we were honored to be a part of their 2014 Top Green Chef competition. Discover how our Executive Sous Chef Ricardo Jarquin used energy-efficient cooking equipment and local ingredients to showcase his culinary expertise.
Embracing San Diego's commitment to sustainability, we preserve sensitive eelgrass adjacent to the hotel and practice extensive recycling and conservation efforts.
Today the hotel and its picturesque grounds create new settings for a shining future.
We’re the first hotel in San Diego to implement a food composting program. Every month we compost over 13.9 tons of leftover food from our restaurants, banquets and team member cafeteria.
Our groundbreaking efforts have received recognition from the City of San Diego, CalRecycle, California Green Lodging Association, and the Department of Toxic Substances Control.
We also donate unused bath products to Clean the World so that they can be used in orphanages and shelters – conserving over 12,000 lbs. of bath supplies a year.
